The Free-Vale system was developed in the hypercar brand Koenigsegg. Its function is to use actuators to open valves instead of camshafts which have an electrical conduction mechanism working with a brain to change the pressure to open the valve together with a valve spring that acts against the opening of the valve. Also, there is a valve lift valve which is controlled by the oil pressure resulting in more flexible and independent adjustment of the valve stroke stroke. This makes the engine smaller and lighter.
This Free-Vale engine technology is installed in the Koenigsegg Gemera, 2.0-litre, twin-turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a total weight of 70 kg.
Bore x stroke: 95.0 x 93.5 mm.
Compressive strength 9.5 : 1
